Exploring Instrumental, Expectancy, and Valence Components in Motivation for Learning among University Students in Selected ASEAN Country

Motivation is a reason for acting or behaving in particular way while learning structured combination of human elements, materials, facilities, equipment, and procedures that influence each other to achieve goals. In others words, motivation intrinsic, where learners are interested the course content, extrinsic, earning grade credit. an important factor students success from various backgrounds study university. But, instrument, expectance, valence components university need be explored analyzed. This paper aims identify instrumental, expectancy, motivation. To obtain data quantitative research method with survey instruments was used. The questionnaire divided into 4 sections including demographic profile, instrument components, expectancy components. About 141 selected higher education institutions ASEAN countries Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Indonesia participated this research. findings show extrinsic goal orientation most influential motivate student study. So lecturer has prepare highest by implementing teaching sessions effectively achieving all objectives needed.
